Once again we
are proud to say that one of our armwrestlers will
be participating in ArmWars Legacy. DeWet
Botha (above left) will be going up against Soso
Imertishvili (above right) from Georgia.
Earlier this year Terence Opperman went up against
Michael Todd and Don Underwood.
Here is an
exert from the invitation letter sent to DeWet
Botha: "On behalf of British Armwrestling
Federation, it is with great pride that I would like
to officially invite you to attend the forthcoming
B.A.F. ARM WARS “LEGACY” International Armwrestling
Championships which will be held at the magnificent
Trafford Centre, in Manchester from Friday 23rd July
through until Monday 26th July, 2010. You are
scheduled to face former W.A.F. -75kg World No.5
Soso Imerlishvili of Georgia, in the 1st round of
the event on both the Right and Left Arms.
The ARM WARS Super Series events are the most
popular, prestigious, and universally recognized
Professional Armwrestling promotions in the World
and are currently televised internationally via the
weekly Eurosport Show “International Armwrestling”
which airs in 66 Countries across Europe to a
potential viewing audience of 230 million people.
This year represents the eleventh annual ARM WARS
Super Series Championship to be held at The Trafford
Centre and it promises to be a truly exceptional
event with athletes from more than 15 countries
expected to compete. The spectacular venue will also
add an extra dimension to the Championships with
live standing crowds in excess of 10,000 people
enjoying the ARM WARS experience live from the
Orient Main Stage at Manchester’s largest leisure
facility."
